Nov 30, 2009—Company Announcements Gladiator Kicks Off 2010 United Way Pledge Drive In October 2009, Gladiator Technology kicked off its 2010 United Way Pledge Drive as Jack Henry & Associates joined forces with this worthy cause to support the people and communities where we live and work. Acting as official Campaign Coordinator and Ambassador, Gladiator’s own Ben Murphy, Senior Manager of Information Security, spearheaded the United Way pledge drive kick-off meeting for our metro Atlanta offices. Murphy was joined by Nancy DeLoach, Associate Area Director of United Way in North Fulton county, and Sheila Wright, an executive with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta who is “on loan” to the United Way, to discuss what United Way does here in our community. The message was clear, that it takes the entire community to make a difference – that no single shelter, meal program, or child care center can solve the challenges we face. But each one of us can “do the right thing” to change our world, and together we can tackle today’s toughest issues and make our community stronger. The tough reality is that community problems take more than one group to solve. The United Way is about working together to get to the heart of our problems and create a solution that works for the community and that focuses on the issues that matter most to us. The United Way of Metro Atlanta invests in programs and services that seek to ensure the following important goals: • Children enter school ready to learn, graduate from high school and are prepared for careers • Families are self-sufficient • Babies are born healthy • Young people avoid risky behaviors • People have access to primary health care • Homeless people are housed within one year Employees of Gladiator are proud to contribute to the United Way, which offers the community a unique opportunity to create the kind of place we want for ourselves, our families, and our friends. By working together, we can achieve lasting change in our community. We invite you to learn more about the United Way by visiting http://www.liveunited.org/.
